- ½ cup rolled oats
- 1 cup water or milk
- 1 small or medium sized apple, diced
- ½ to ¾ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp butter
- Maple syrup or brown sugar for topping
Instructions
- Combine the diced apple, cinnamon, and a dash of water in a saucepan. Stir occassionally until the apples soften.
- Add in the water or milk along with the oats.
- Stir often until it reaches the consistency of your choice.
- Remove from heat and mix in the butter.
- Top with maple syrup, brown sugar, or any toppings of choice before serving.
Tips
- Top your oatmeal with chopped pecans.
- If using milk, make sure to stir consistently so that the milk does not burn on the botton of the saucepan.
