Ingredients

- Bucatini or Spaghetti
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ⅓ cup Pecorino Romano
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup pasta water
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and generously season with salt.
- Add pasta and cook until al dente.
- Drain pasta, reserving ⅓ cup pasta water.
- Remove from heat and mix in the butter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter and pepper. Let sizzle for 1 minute.
- Add in pasta water and cheese. Stir until melted and combined.
- Add in your desired amount of pasta into the skillet and let cook for about 3 minutes. Serve.
Tips
- As a substitute for pasta water, use ¼ tsp of cornstarch with 1 cup of warm water and a pinch of salt.
- Parmesan cheese may be substituted for pecorino romano.
